overhaul pt 2

overhaul is still taking place.

during my frustration i watched this one minute video on apartment therapy dot com and the woman said, "let go of the things that defined your old self and leave/keep items that define your new self". hello, light bulb moment. because up until then i just new i was over crowded and a tad overwhelmed.

with this concept in mind it was much easier. for example. i have had a white board or white board calendar for years. because? mom. many schedules. but? hello, welcome to the 20th century. do we still say that? aren't we in the 21st century? anywho, i have an app. those g o o g l e people have many great apps. one is a calendar. that is on every one of my electronic device. and? in case you did not know - you can share the calendar with anyone. not that there's anything highly interesting on my calendar. no need to share there. move, along, this is not the calendar you are seeking.

white board out!!

i was able to put 90% of my kitchen stuff in the cupboards. I KNOW, RIGHT? the only item still on a wall is the knife bar.

i removed my necklaces from the wall. they will be relocated to the closet in some form or fashion. don't get me wrong i love looking at pretty things. glittery things. sparkley things. because, yes, you have met me.

what i can't do is every horizontal and vertical available space covered. just. can. not.

i have not started putting anything back up yet. my mind is resting in the clear space. and, two? i have to fill a bunch of holes in my wall and don't want to fill MORE holes just because i put some surviving item back up on the wall at a random spot.

my other goal is to clean out my outside storage. currently there are a few treasured items out there. but? OUT THERE. i'm working toward the concept that items that came into my life -- well, one, they need to go make someone else happy. and if i ever need that thing or something similar it will come back into my life.

in other news. it's hot. ha! but thanking the Lord deeply, there is a breeze.

blab you later. maybe with photos.
