Introducing....

today i have a guest. you know her...but i loving give you the opportunity to know more about her -

Hi, Grace here. Dancer invited me to make a guest post, so here I am! I’ve considered a million topics, but I’ll keep it simple; wait, maybe that will be boring. Anyway - context is important to me so let me introduce myself. I was born and raised in the great state of Texas; an only child. I married my current (& second) hubby in Texas and enjoyed seeing a bit of the world because of his military career. (Yes, all (one of) my ex(es) live(s) in Texas…) I can’t imagine how I’d be exactly here today if we had not joined lives. You see, I met Dancer early on in my first assignment as a military wife. And the rest is history; quite a bit of history – 18 years’ worth! Wow. I can barely take that in. We have a loving friendship that has deep roots; forever roots.

What’s it like in my world, you ask? What kind of hats do I wear? Who am I? Well, first and foremost I am a redeemed child of God, a Christ-follower, an imperfect, in-process human, but praise God redeemed. Forgive me if that seems like a fancy word; maybe I’ll explain in the future, but it’s a very important word to me. My husband and I have been married for 18 years with no biological or adopted offspring, yet; more on that later. I have a step-mom hat that is a little dusty (maybe more on that later), a daughter hat, a fur-baby momma hat, and a counselor hat that adorn my head.

So, in addition to context, I value genuineness and transparency; which is scary to me because I realize that I am, for all intents and purposes, creating a permanent written record with any blog posts. It’s scary because I don’t know you. I like to know the people I’m sharing myself with. So you’re trustworthy but it’s the other people I worry about.

I’m thinking about the movie Julie and Julia and how Julie’s blog connected her to people through the process of sharing about her cooking Julia Child’s recipes. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it! So, no grand plans here, the thought was just a thought, about blogging. Anyway…

Thank you, Dancer, for the invitation to share your blog space. Thank you for sharing life. xoxox
