light stop

it's been days since i posted. i've been very overwhelmed. spent all of thursday trying to get enough done or enough put away for brooke's visit. it was a good visit. had steve and his wife over for dinner last night and it was fun sitting with them and discussing politics. not everyone is on the same page on how to get things done but everyone is on the same page that were pretty much messed up. and, i say that with pg words - cuz, they are grown ups now. 

no pictures tho. that's another story. remind me and i may tell you.

i will, however, show you my laundry process. because i have much do to visitors. 

here is my laundry machine in my tub. which, means, i have to take it out of it's storage place, which is not in the  bathroom, and set it up here. the left side is wash/rinse - the right is super duper spin. no dryer. it's mostly air dry.

laundry is not bad on the weeks that it is just me. and i'm not doing towels and sheets. this week it's me plus visitors plus towels and sheets. i will be visiting the laundromat tomorrow to finish drying the towels. i know it looks like a lot - but compared to paying 1.50 per load - and, yes, i want to separate my delicate items, and 1.50 to dry...i will break even very soon.

oh,. i also learned that having more than 'me' in my space is challenging. first, almost always, something has to be moved or put away to get out the other thing that you need. and there's closeness. having spent my research time on small living - i know there are couples and small families that live in my 500 sq ft. you really, really would have to like these people. i for one, and also brooke. are really not 'people' people. there's only so much exposure to humans and then i'm done. done, done, done. my space is fine - and will continue to be -- for me. oh, and let's not forget the princess. 

she's found a new place to sleep. sometimes this is ok. sometimes, even watching tv this is ok. it's when she's not actually curled up when we have issues. 

and speaking of  being stressed around extra people - her highness doesn't care for over exposure, either. brooke reminded me that she had not had her cat nip in a long time. since we moved, i think. here's what she did

i'm going to start my job search tomorrow.
