my golden years

i'm leaving tomorrow morning to spend some time with my family. the twins have a birthday and my mom just had carpel tunnel surgery.

it will be nice to have a break. i'm trying really hard to not think about what my desk will look like when i get back and concentrate on family and memories. (oh. and sleep. and food. lol)

at the end of last year i let my savings run low because of tires and brakes. yeah. it's a bit difficult living in this city during the winter without brakes and tires. and of course this was over the holiday season. i was expecting a tax return. instead i owe the man. locally and federal. sweet.

and let's just say i received a dose of reality today in regards to my job. no details. just a reminder that nothing is permanent. and i don't have savings to back it up.

what are the signs of arthritis? wait. you're not google.

Painful swelling, inflammation, and stiffness in the fingers, arms, legs, and wrists occurring in the same joints on both sides of the body, especially upon awakening, may be signs of rheumatoid arthritis.

yes. that. in some of my fingers.

which reminds me. last night i watched an episode of golden girls. i think everyone who reads my blog will remember golden girls. anyway. sophia said to dorthy "i came to live with you in your golden years." "but ma, you're in your golden years. " "no! i should be dead! you're in YOUR golden years."

reality check. when your parents are still alive (hi mom! hi dad!) then you sorta loose your impact on saying "dammit. i'm old!" they call me on that.

but, dangit! i'm old!

dance on people.

  1. Hi, Dancer. I love the look of your page. That old thing? It's a real bummer when your parents are 99, 95, and 90 and keep telling you how YOUNG you are when you feel like you're barely crawling through the day. I don't think I'll ever get to be the old one. I'll just go from YOUNG! (not) to dead.

Sorry about all your brake, tires, job, arthur-itis, etc. Why can't life be easy? I sure hope you've got yourself some good girlfriends. They are what has kept me alive in the tough times.
