I had a trip to Denver on the books for this holiday weekend. Go see the youngest, etc. Both of us were really looking forward to it. I was supposed to leave at o'dark forty Sunday morning. I set my alarm for 3:15, 3:20 and 3:20. AM. yes, AM!
first alarm went off and i see i have a text from said airline. "your flight has been canceled. you can reschedule etc etc etc" so I did. to monday 1pm-ish. both of us were disappointed but carried on. i woke up this morning around 6-ish and started reading the tweet regard said airline. they had already canceled several flights and the RESCHEDULED flights and had been pushed out by 6 hours. making the hard, sad decision to cancel my time in denver.
on Sunday, Broncos vs Steelers, since I WASN'T IN DENVER, i went down to the local broncos bar. in which, some of you may know, we lost. i got back to my car and there were yellow and white envelopes under my wiper. i got busted for not having a front plate. where i live it is a two plate state. i had been flying under the radar cuz i lived in the burb but now i was downtown. parking right be a very known baseball field.
let's see. so today i went to see the new bond movie. it was good. we shall not speak of it again. on the way home - intense downpour. with umbrella i was still soaked. so, not really one of my better weekends but let's be sport about it and look at the upside. i will be going to visit at christmas time. i couldn't be mad at the city or myself for not doing something that was against the law. downpour? life. bond? we shall not speak of it again.
so instead of being on vacay today through thursday - here i am. going back to work tomorrow. oh, and a side bit of news - my company has scrapped ALL of the back to the office plans -- even the end of april 2022 plans. IKR??!!?? i'm hoping and praying for a permanent WFH situation.
the grandbabe' turns 5 in 2 days.
