cabin fever.
yesterday i had my staples removed. that went much better than the stitches, when the stitches came out last week i accidentally hit the doctor and completely wanted to cold clock the nurse.
my pain med has been changed up. i think i have my first official drug that i'm allergic to. and might have the beginnings of an infection on the donor site so now i'm on an antibiotic.
the second day i was in the hospital i was taken down to the burn unit and given a bath.. with burns you have to have your sites debrided. the removal of the top layer. ooo. oo. extra pain meds for that. however, that's not the special part. have you taken a moment to realize how many men are working in the nursing profession? yes, to male nurses attended my burn bath.
i'll give you a picture. the silver slab that you see in the corner's lab? like that. but it also has some depth to it and an edge. there's this plastic blow up bin sitting inside. really, like if you blew it up it would be the baby pool you have in the backyard. and then there are towels. the room is well heated because, well, it's you, your nurses and your birthday suit. they do try to be sensitive. but pretty much by the time you are done they've seen everything God gave you. thank goodness for the drugs. not only a pain killer but an extra dose of "meh...it's ok"... there is a reason that those are labeled controlled substance.
it's also good that i like prunes.
peace out peoples.
