i received an email yesterday from the title company who is processing the paperwork for closing the house.
apparently the marriage dissolution documents to remove my name from the title do not suffice for the title company.
in a prior life i used to work for a title company. and actually i used to work for the company who is closing the house. i emailed richard and ask for a dollar or two - seeing as he may walk away with upwards of $50k and i was denied some of the joint assets.
anyway, you will not be surprised that his answer was no. emotionally a year ago i would have made him drag my hiney back to court to force me to sign the deed. but, now, no. although in my dating relationship(s) i'm still 13 - in other areas i'm grown'd up and can't be bothered.
it also helps tremendously that i beginning to really believe my security and justice is not my hands or the hands of the court. if there is inequality, and i'm not adamant that there is, but if there is, my Father is the ultimate place of authority.
somethings only come through experience. i might go so far to say as all things come through experience.
i am thankful that the house issue is almost over.
