let's play catch up. how you been? mostly the same here. i finally had it with the long hair. it was part of my liberation package. except for 2 times i only had my hair trimmed in six years. six years!! also? heat. heat with long hair. you know how you wear long hair in heat? up in a pony or bun. as fancy and 'hip' as ponys and buns have become these last few years - if the only way i can wear it is up? why? and? lots 'o maintenance. so without futher ado...
i've been working on styling it for a few weeks. i think i've finally got it down. unfortunately, neither of these photos show the current curls. but i'll get back to you on that.
here is how much i cut off. my new hairdresser (maybe not the long term one) suggested i put my foot next to it as to give perception. look at that!!
still working on the job thing. it is very possible i have acquired gainful employment. next week i will be able to tell you in absolute terms. this has been a very interesting time. i've really had to learn how to go to Jesus and put my burdens at his feet every moment. and leave them there for the day. i believe i'm in the home stretch now - thank you for your support and prayers. i do still need them!
since my last post steve and his wife closed on their home and moved in. it is a sweet little home - a great start for their family. i've been spending time with steve's wife - to her latest sonogram - little hana is 35 weeks and three days!
the baby furniture is just beautiful. and! as a nice icing on the cake of a blessing - the babe's room was already painted a light purple (lilac maybe?). before moving in she and i had talked about pink and gray. but the color really works. she's trying to find her style and you know me -- i love creating new things.
oh! get this! feeling particularly confident in myself - i offered to help replace their garbage disposal. youtube, as my madre would affirm, is a beautiful thing. since we live so much closer these days - i swung by yesterday (after my interview) and had an impromptu handy person moment. all three of us took turns working it. she is handy - and steve, when he wants to learn, can be pretty handy himself. badabing bada boom! brand new disposal! it was a good feeling and maybe even a little bonding between us all.
speaking of...i've injured my lower back. about two weeks ago the pain started. then i could only stand or walk for about four minutes before i had to stop, breath, stretch - pretty bad. again, in deep love with my care takers. i got in the same day for an exam - and now i'm on meds. today i also went to my chiropractor. hey! another woman! i was way off. one way i always know i'm kinked up is my stride is not equal. she also helped me learn how to properly wear my lower back support/brace. i bought it from amazon last week but wasn't getting much relief. i figured with having a short waist i was placing it incorrectly - and yes, i was. huge difference! i hope to be back to walking in the next day or two.
sunday the broncos play the colts. i've only been able to watch one game. no preseason football unless you live local. since i do not - i have not been able to watch. mini torture. (who would have ever thought that I would be so interested in football? which, really, not so much. just the broncos).
i think that's about it. i hope to have great news when i blog ya later.
peace!
